GameSoundCon 2023

GameSoundCon 2023 is done! I first attended in 2019 and it was my first audio conference ever. I was a student who didn't know anyone at the time, and I still remember Andrea Chang walking up and being the very first person to talk to me that day after a dialogue VO panel.

Now, four years later, I've had the pleasure of connecting with so many amazing game audio folks who work all over the place, and these events have become something of a reunion as I stalk the attendee list and run around trying to see all my friends in a quick 2 days.

The presentations are fantastic, and I would encourage folks to check out my favourite talk of the whole event, Tony Grinage's Casting for Authenticity and Diversity in Video Games where he makes an incredible case for doing the work necessary to create authentic representation in games and what that work might entail.

It was so much fun engaging with the community, and I can't wait to do it again next year!
